Almost the MoTab...

Tyler and I were invited to sing in the choir for a production of Rob Gardner's The Lamb of God. There were two performances--one in the Tabernacle in Salt Lake and another at Weber State in Ogden. It's very pretty music, and it was a great way to get in the Easter mood. And didn't I mention we got to sing in the Tabernacle?!?! Yay! It was almost like we were the MoTab. Almost.

Lots of people came to see it, even though they had never heard about it before. There were rumors flying that General Authorities might come, but alas none ever showed. Oh well, it was still pretty packed without them.

Since Tyler is a tenor and I am an alto, we got to sit next to each other--the best part. We were on the very back row with the organ towering over us.

It was excellent. Except for the part when he (Rob, the composer/conductor) said he wouldn't ever cue us to sit down! The choir had to just know when and do it alone. Well, the problem with that is that nobody wants to be the only one to sit down, so everybody waits for everybody else to sit, and that means that NOBODY sits! I would have gladly been the first to sit, but as I said, we were in the very back, so nobody would notice and sit at the same time...grrr. So, we all had to stand for the entire hour and a half! Doesn't sound hard, but try it--and do it in dress shoes and without moving. Oh, and be five months pregnant! Ha ha ha. Looking back it's actually pretty funny, but in the moment the entire choir was about to pass out! Hooray for concerts!

Dude! How did I not catch on that you are pregnant! Congratulations! And so sad that I didn't get to see you and Tyler's tabernacle debut :-)
