Two months old!

Ashton went for his two month check-up (10 and a half pounds!) and round #1 of immunizations. Ouch! He was NOT happy at all. Although if you ask me, the nurse sure took her dear, sweet time poking him multiple times...grrr! Oh, well. After one incredibly fussy afternoon, he forgot all about it. Now he's back to his happy self and making new discoveries! At two months old he has now discovered that he has hands. I caught him that night staring at them with a look that said, "Hey, what are these things?"



He's just so darn cute, and getting smarter every day. We sure are lucky to have him!

Roadtrip!!!

At seven weeks old, Ashton went on his first roadtrip! We drove in Grandma April's BIG truck all the way up to Montana and stayed for almost two weeks.

He did such a great job in the car! He made it all the way to Wisdom, MT before he decided he'd had enough of the car, but after a short break, he fell back asleep for the rest of the way home. It did have an adverse effect on him though...anytime we put him in the car for the next two weeks after that, he was NOT very happy about it!

Of course, as soon as we got to Montana he wanted nothing to do with me! All he wanted was for Grandma to hold him.

I only ever got to hold him when he was hungry or asleep!

If he ever realized that Grandma was not holding him, he would be quite stressed.

We had lots of fun, though. Ashton got to meet my friends, and he made his own new friend, Katie's 4-month-old, Christian! Here are some pictures of them hanging out at Katie's house:

We also went to the water park to play...but Ashton just slept in the shade with Grandma, of course, until we got home.

He much prefers showers over any old water park!

Mostly, though, we just enjoyed talking...

...and laughing...

Although, of course, Grandma made sure that Ashton met his first horse!

All in all it was a great trip! We missed Daddy a lot, though, so we were glad to come home. But we can't wait to see everyone again at Christmas!

Going to Church

One lovely Sunday we had a visit from my friend Leah. She was in town for the weekend and so she came to church with us. It was great to see her! She took a couple pictures of us--with her FAR superior camera--and we chatted and had fun. Of course she picked a day to visit when I looked hideous, but at least the boys of the family are always handsome!
